The ATMC or Automotive Training Managers Council is an organization founded in 1984 by original equipment and aftermarket automotive training professionals for the exchange of training ideas and strategies helpful to both technical and sales/marketing training professionals.ATMC members are interested in improving the ROI, or "return on instruction" through networking and the exchanging of ideas for more effective training performance. In so doing, member companies are better able to train their customers to understand and utilize the latest products and techniques in the automotive trade.ATMC also provides a service to the industry through research and publications related to training and human performance technology issues in the automotive arena.
Who Qualifies for ATMC Membership?ATMC has an inclusive membership policy which is global in nature and encompasses the following macro categories: Corporations, Non- profit & Government, and Individual.These macro categories are further broken down into subcategories:- Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM)- Aftermarket Suppliers (Parts and accessory manufacturers)- Vendors (Tools, equipment, supplies, information support)- Program Groups (Buying groups and their affiliates)- Training Organizations (Continuing education and schools)- Individual (Individual memberships not affiliated with a corporation)- Fleet (Non-governmental, non-utility fleet operations)- Government/Utility (Local, State & Federal fleets and Utility fleets)- Retail Outlets (chain stores or repair facilities)- Industry Non-profits
What forums does ATMC use for the exchange of information?ATMC publishes various booklets and supports industry initiatives designed to increase training effectiveness, and also hosts a conference each year and several webinars. In addition, ATMC shares information via its website www.atmc.org.
ATMC membership brings with it recognition of member organizations as being concerned with improving their return-on-instruction through networking, through learning and applying state-of-the-art training methodology, and by being visible among their peers as proactive training organizations in the automotive and related industries. Members can attend the annual conference and web events without paying the event registration fee. Members have access to participate in all the features of the new ATMC website, including the forums, commenting on blogs, as well as the ability to network with some of the finest trainers in the industry.
